The Vine cultivation
Our vines are the three big R:
· Rivaner
· Riesling
· und Regent
The cultivation of the vine is done by the classic
single pile education in "Steilhängen" (> 65%),
the wire frame education in sloping or shallower areas.
The area around Ürzig includes several different
types of soil. The two major types of soil are
stained red sandstone soil weathering called "Rotliegendes",
and the weathering schist soil. These soil and rock types
are dominant factors for the diversity of our wines.
